False Flat: Why Dutch Design is so Good
Aaron Betsky,Adam Eeuwens
The Netherlands is currently a center for great modern design, in architecture, urban planning, industrial design, and graphic design. This book showcases contemporary Dutch design and, in discussing the geography, culture, and history, defines what makes it intrinsically "Dutch."
False Flat is a beautifully designed book, and unlike the more usual scholarly presentations of such topics, it is dynamic and interesting. There's an introduction and five illustrated chapters by Aaron Betsky. Between the chapters are 16-page sections consisting of images and detailed captions.
