Francois Linke--Belle Epoque of French Furniture
Christopher Payne
Linke is considered to be the "creme de la creme" of Parisian cabinetmaking in the era when French fashion was at its height. He created a style of work unique to himself, which brought together rococco design and newly fashionable l'art nouveau. His exquisite craftsmanship and unique designs brought him great acclaim at the Exhibition of 1900, and today it is much sought after. This volume, with its over 700 unique photos, (many previously unpublished and found in Linke's private collection and archives,) discusses and illustrates his career. A thorough and beautiful book.
